Mind in a box

Blankly staring at a box where blurred pictures of reality submerge itself between commercials.
Small minds stay in the box, feeding off its endless programming of fear and consumption
   while the world waits idly by, awaiting its demise.
People with their own lives watch the lives of others
in hope to be someone who they are not,
                                  in a life that is not theirs.
What has come of this reality,
              What will come of this world?  
Each person has their own view of happiness,
  and most mindlessly follows their dream into self-destruction.
So many things addictive,
  only few outlawed.
Priorities lowered, the countdown to zero has begun.
War and death vs. love and life,
the evil is triumphant once again as we begin to see the light.
Believing what they are told to be truths, people walk blindly into death with great passion.  
  But those few who strive to learn the truth also strive for life,
                                                             the greatest happiness.
For the ones who search for happiness needed not search at all,
   for they had the power to be happy all along.
They are alive,
but their life has been taken away,
slowly through the years to become another mindless voice
following the hand that feeds them.  

Two roads to happiness,
one less traveled.
It's all up to you…
